Sermey Thoesam School has been in existence for more than forty years now. The total number of students who have enrolled themselves for Primary schooling at this Sermey Thoesam School till present time stands at around 2500.  

With the blessings and inspiration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the School is making all effort to educate, transform and empower young monks/novices to be role models with not only spiritual and traditional learning but also aptly knowledgeable with the modern education. This empowerment will support them for a shared life of spiritual harmony and brotherhood.

Many of the graduates will have the opportunity and scope  to make their contribution to the spread of His Holiness’ cherished SEE Learning Program for a social, emotional and ethical learning transformation in the Schools and other educational institutions. The Nalanda Tradition’s Science of the Mind or positive psychology is at the core of the Monastic syllabus and also that of the SEE Learning Program that is now an inspiration for many people and institutions to introduce it as a subject for a more wide spread dissemination amongst the younger generations and also the general people.
